Unlock the Secrets of Classroom Management

I had a recent conversation with one of my mentees and he mentioned that during his last observation the principal marked him down for not noticing different student behaviors. 

Some of the students were on their phones,

Others had their ear buds in and were listening to music. 

And there were also some that were eating. 

Now if we are honest I am sure you see this behavior all of the time in your classroom.  I know I do and it is a constant battle to catch and stop my students from doing these things. 

Before I continue let me state that this behavior is not necessarily wrong and some of us might be okay with it, but if you are not how do we catch all of the things that our students do.  

We have so much on our plate it is easy to get tunnel vision and just focus on delivering the lesson and not notice what is going on.  

As he and I broke down the problem, it became evident that what his principal wanted him to do was walk around the class more.
