Routines for Test Day

It is test day and you have a classroom full of disengaged students.  There are 30 pairs of eyeballs starring at you and it is up to you to make sure that this class period goes as smoothly as possible.  

Early on in my teaching career I was giving a test to my students and I took it for granted that everything would run smoothly.  

The end result was a student copied down the answers and shared it with other class periods so that by the end of the day I had a large number of students who cheated.  

The sad part was I didn't know who cheated or did not cheat so I was stuck in a difficult spot.  

It was from that moment that I started to create solid routines on how I have students take tests in my classroom.
