How to Handle Conversations With Parents

When I was a brand new teacher I use to pee in my pants every time I needed to talk to parents. 

How do I go about telling parents that their precious son or daughter is acting horrible in my class?

What do I do if they start to blame me for their child's behavior?

What happens if they contact my principal?

How much responsibility should I take if a student is failing my class?

And the worse one of all

How do I respond and what do I say if a parent starts to yell at me.  

In my 20 years of teaching all of those things have happened to me and not just once.  

Luckily as the years went on and I became more experienced as a teacher, I learned how to communicate with parents and 95% of the time we end up on the same page.
