Hello my teaching friend
My name is Gabriel Vigil and I have been a teacher in Southern California, United States for over 20 years. In that time period I have done everything under the sun regarding education. I have been a mentor for new teachers, I have created curriculum from the ground up, and I have coached. Those are just a few of opportunities I have had the fortune of being involved in.
In the classroom
Even with all of those side jobs I have never left the classroom and I am still in the trenches everyday. I currently teach 8th Grade Social Studies. I love what I do but that has not always been the case.
My first 7 years of teaching were the worst
I almost became a statistic because I must of mentally quit 100 times in those first seven years. Nothing I learned in college transferred to the classroom and I was barely surviving. It wasn't until I finally developed a solid classroom management plan that things finally turned around.
